In the world of online business there is a lot to do, with every day presenting new opportunities. But for the savvy solopreneur or online entrepreneur, there are tons of tools that can make your job (or jobs) that much easier. However sometimes the issue is knowing WHICH TOOLS you should be using.
As someone who does about 3 different jobs and manages a range of clients across different industries, I’ve got a few go-to tools that I love to use.
These are my best software tools for entreprneurs or solopreneurs, which I believe make life much easier.
These tools are all also quite affordable – but they offer premium product experience.
Before we run down my list of the best tools for solopreneurs, I’m gonna answer a few questions.
What is a solopreneur?
A solopreneur is someone who runs one or more one-person businesses. This might be a one person content agency, a wedding photography business, a drop shipping brand or an online coach. You might even run several different businesses.
Myself, I run a content marketing agency, manage a portfolio of websites and also offer business coaching on a one-to-one basis.
That’s not to mention a bit of casual crypto trading and full time parenting.
OK, I might not have a tool for parenting. But for any small business owner these tools are all great for a variety of uses. So if you want to optimise your own solopreneur business, these are the tools I recommend.
1. Copy AI
When it comes to building a business or even a business plan, AI content writing has taken the world by storm. And while Chat GPT has made it easier than ever to write a blog post or build a marketing plan, there are more options out there.
Copy AI is an AI content writing tool which has a bit more functionality that Chat GPT. While it does have a free tier, I find the premium tier to be an excellent investment considering the work I do every day.
In fact, in an average day I’ll write several blog posts, social media posts for a variety of social media accounts, some email marketing and more. In short, I tend to write A LOT of content.
The key difference between Copy AI and Chat GPT is that Copy AI has live access to the internet. So you can ask Copy AI to summarise complex documents, create content for a specific brand URL or even summarise whats going on in a specific country, industry or on a website.
Read my full Copy AI review here.
Features
- AI content writer which has live access to the internet
- Also features 5 workspace seats under the premium account so you can assign tasks to team members too!
- Store your own Ai prompts, brand voice and even specific details for a person or company

2. Stripe
Stripe is a payment processing platform which integrates easily with a variety of other websites and platforms easily. If you want to setup a business online and collect payments, Stripe is an excellent alternative to PayPal.
In fact the fees are a lot less with Stripe, and you can set the automatic payout frequency too.
To add to this, you can also use Stripe to automate things like membership subscriptions or recurring fees for specific services. I think Stripe is the best payment tool for entrepreneurs as it integrates easily with other apps and platforms making it perfect for growing businesses of all sorts.
Features
- Payment processing easily integrated with multiple website platforms
- Lower fees than PayPal
- Automatic management of subscriptions, membership and more
3. SendPulse
SendPulse is an affordable and feature packed email marketing software which offers a variety of tools for entrepreneurs as part of it’s package.
Managing an email list is one of the most important parts of being a solopreneur. By building your email list you have a ready made audience you can reach out to and offer your solutions. While tools such as MailChimp are very popular, I LOVE SendPulse for a few reasons.
With SendPulse you can of course build sign up forms for your newsletters, lead capture forms and more – as you would expect.
BUT… SendPulse also lets you create courses and landing pages for those courses, add chatbots to your website and even create automated workflows based on your email flow. These are tools you normally need to pay for a with premium and very expensive service such as Hubspot.
By contrast, SendPulse is feature packed, easy to use and relatively cheap! There is even a free version which is more than adequate.
In fact, SendPulse a feature packed all in one platform for a range of marketing automation and I’m only just starting to find the full potential of this app.
Features:
- Feature packed email marketing management and lead capture CRM
- Extra tools such as online course hosting put this in the bargain tool tier
- Includes workflow management, website/landing page builder and more

4. Keywords Everywhere
Possibly the best value SEO keyword research tool on the market… BY FAR. Keywords Everywhere is a Chrome extension that analyses search volume on keywords on the fly. Basically, pop a search into Google and when you get the results you’ll also get to see the monthly volume, on-page difficulty and even the cost for a PPC ad keyword (very roughly).
You can also use it for keyword suggestion research, as it highlights alternative keywords right there in the Google front page.
Keywords Everywhere also helps with competitor analysis as it even shows the search terms that sites in the search results rank for.
As if that wasn’t enough, Keywords Everywhere also offers AI content prompt templates within Chat GPT. So it can also help you create awesome content in the world’d favourite AI content tool.
Not enough? They also offer their SEO Minion tool which offers on-page analysis as part of their premium plans.
And how much does this cost?
Keywords Everywhere is $15 for 100,000 searches. The AI prompts don’t affect that either. So you get almost a years worth of content keyword research for just $15. Unbeatable value!
Features:
- Keyword research in Google for just $15 for 100,000 searches (thats a lot of searches)
- AI prompts for Chat GPT
- Premium package $60 per year, includes access to useful SEO Minion tool.

5. Buffer
Managing your social media accounts is key for any solopreneur. And if you’re like me and you don’t really have the time to manage multiple social accounts, this is where Buffer is your life saver.
With Buffer you can integrate up to 3 social media channels (for example Linkedin, Instagram and Twitter or X) and a bunch of posts in advance.
I’ll be honest I don’t actually know how many…
And to add to this, Buffer also gives you access to a business landing page for free. It’s all very cool.
If social media management is an important part of your online business strategy then this is an excellent option. The free plan is also perfectly adequate for most users, unless you’re managing projects for clients or if you have a lot of social media accounts.
Features:
- Connect and automate social media on 3 accounts for free
- Schedule posts in advance
6. Carrd
Looking for a simple and cheap website builder? Yup, forget WordPress (although I do love WordPress too). Carrd is a great tool for entrepreneurs because it allows you to easily set up simple business websites in minutes.
Combine Carrd with Stripe and Sendpulse and you have a formidable business tool here.
While your Carrd site won’t be particularly SEO heavy, you can use a Carrd site to sell online courses, list your photos or ebooks, or sell a specific service such as business counselling.
Carrd is free, but if you go for the premium package it’s just $19 A YEAR for 10 websites!
Honestly, thats an amazing bargain. And using Carrd allows you to test out business ideas which you might not want to spend time creating a big website on.
Features:
- Great looking website builder which is perfect for solopreneur style businesses
- Integrates easily with Stripe and SendPulse
- Very cheap at just $19 for up to 10 websites
7. Notion
Is there a better task management and organisation tool than Notion? Hmmm… I don’t think so.
Notion make business management simple, and it even has a good smartphone app so you can manage stuff on the fly. Take quick notes, manage your to-do lists, draft emails or landing page ideas, store receipts and images. You can even write AI content for blogs and social media with Notion!
As a project management tool, the options in Notion are huge. And with various plugins, a user friendly interface and even collaborative options, Notion ranks as an essential tool for entrepreneurs.
And the amazing thing is ITS FREE.
Yes, there is a paid tier, which you only really need if you have a team of people who need to access it. But the free plan will be more than adequate for a solopreneur.
Features:
- Comprehensive business management tool for solopreneurs with to do lists, notes and more
- Free AI content writing tool is included
- Free for small teams – you can invite 10 guests. Or cheap (just $8 per month) for additional team members
8. Litesite
If you want a site that can schedule appointments but with a few more options to manage contacts, link to your multiple websites or send automated emails, Litesite could be one of your best business tools.
This handy miscrosite is a bit like Calendy meets Carrd, with a sort of Linktree vibe too. I like it as I use Litesite as my calling card, with a short bio of what I do. Users can then click on the scheduling link and that meeting is added to my Google calendar. All very easy.
A good trick here is that Litesite automatically sends both pre-meeting emails, and a follow up thank you. And it stores emails from meetings too so you can send your new leads and potential clients.
The free plan for Litesite is perfect for most users, and this has become one of my most trusted business tools for scheduling.
Features:
- Simple business booking landing page for solopreneurs
- Automates meeting reminders and follow ups
- Useful for a landing page to leave on social media pages
9. SEM Rush
An essential part of any online business is to build your organic search traffic, attracting website visitors and tracking your website performance. There are a number of premium keyword research tools for entrepreneurs, such as Ahrefs, SERP Stat and Ubersuggest.
But I like SEM Rush for it’s intuitive interface, options to dig deep into search intent, and track the performance of your website (or websites). While this isn’t a cheap tool, I think it is an essential with many features that will make managing projects and your small business much easier.
When it comes to search engine ranking, you need a tool like SEM Rush in your toolkit.
Features:
- One of the best search engine research tools for entrepreneurs, with tons of features
- Track your websites and competitors too
- Improve your search engine rankings, build your business and get more customers
I hope you’ve enjoyed this review of the best tools for solopreneurs. Stay tuned as I’ll probably end up adding more before too long… There’s always gonna be something I forgot to include!
By the way, this post does include a few affiliate links, so if you do click and use a paid service I might make a small commission. At no extra cost to you! Cheers;)
