1. Video Game Content Creator(Youtuber)
As a video game YouTuber, you can create videos like:
- Game Tutorials
- Games playthroughs
- Game Reviews
- Talk about PC builds
Game tutorials are great for newbies, as you can guide them through the game’s basic mechanics, by simply watching a video.
The next option is game playthroughs. Many gaming YouTube channels focus on this, so you might need to come up with something original in order to catch the attention of the viewer. You can do this even if you don’t want to show your face or speak. A good example is MKIceAndFire. He makes faceless and voiceless playthroughs of games and is estimated to make $5.2K – $82.6K per month and $62K – $991.6K per year, according to Social Blade.
Game reviews are an excellent choice when talking about gaming content creation. If you played a game, you already have an impression of how good is the story, gameplay, sound, and so on, so why not share it with the world? It might help some people who are wondering if that game is worth buying. Take as an example gameranx’ youtube series, “Before you buy”. A series in which they review newly launched games. They get hundreds of thousands and even millions of views on each video.
If you’re a computer “nerd”, then maybe you can talk about the best PC build for specific tasks/games.
2. Live streamer
If recording and editing videos does not sound appealing to you, you can try live streaming. As a streamer, it’s your job to entertain and look after your community.
The good news is that the barrier to entry is low but if you’re starting out with streaming you will not earn much straight away as you must build up an audience first. There are 3 main platforms on which you can stream:
- Twitch
- Youtube
- TikTok
The best one, in my opinion, is Twitch. It has been in business for years now, and it only continues to grow in popularity. So how much money can you make on Twitch? Well, it really depends on your audience, but top streamers make even 1 million dollars per year. Of course, you need to be consistent in streaming to earn that kind of money. You can make money on Twitch, through paid subscribers, receiving bits, playing ads, and donations, and as I said, the bigger the audience you have, the more money you can make.
The second best platform is YouTube. On YouTube, you can make money through donations, views, and activating the “join” option for your viewers, which works in a similar way with Twitch’s paid subscribers.
And the third best platform is TikTok. You can be live on Twitch/Youtube and on TikTok at the same time. You may find people that donate to you through TikTok, or people that come watch your stream on your main platform.
3. Compete in gaming tournaments
If you’re good at a competitive game such as CS:GO, Fortnite, League Of Legends, Minecraft, FIFA, or Overwatch, then this is the thing for you. You don’t need to be an eSports legend to take part in video game tournaments across the country. So, how much money can you actually make? It depends on how popular the event is and what place you rank.
